The Society of Washington Artists is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit art organization established October 1962 and is the oldest artist organization in Southwest Washington. SWA promotes the visual arts by fostering an understanding and appreciation of art among members and the community at large.  

Membership in SWA provides its members with an opportunity to develop, display and sell their artwork in organized gallery art shows and virtual venues, often at a reduced member fee.  The SWA website provides artists with the opportunity to network with other artists.

SWA is open to artists and all those who support the arts. Applicants 16 years and younger require parental or guardian approval.

Membership includes;

  1. Electing Executive Board members

  2. Voting on SWA measures and procedures as presented by the Executive Board.

  3. Participating in all SWA activities: shows, workshops, meetings, etc.

  4. Participation in member gallery list, with a link to your social media site

  5. Use of SWA name in personal advertising of artwork

  6. Volunteering, promoting, and participating in SWA activities 

Annual membership dues:  Individual $40.00.  Family $45.00.  Artist portfolio page w/membership $80.00 annual fee includes individual artist portfolio page which may be updated quarterly.

Dues are for the calendar year from January 1st through December 31st.  Mid-year memberships are discounted to $20.00 for Individuals, $25 for Families, for those joining between June 1st and December 31st.  Payments can be made online with your credit card or through Pay Pal.
